JOYCE Dubliners - Rejected MS

Color: Light blue

Bet they feel a bit silly now.

Multiple publishers rejected James Joyce’s Dubliners before this collection of short stories became a cornerstone of modern literature. Deemed too unflinching in its depictions of Dublin life, it was rejected for nearly a decade before finally being published in 1914. The final, and most famous story in the collection, The Dead, is lengthy, virtually a novella. Dealing with themes of love and loss in the most profound way, it was reputedly described by T. S. Eliot as one of the greatest short stories ever written. Rightly so.

Wear this tribute to Joyce's resilience, brilliance and unfailing artistic integrity with pride.
